This past fall, North Hartford Ascend and the Childhood Prosperity Lab launched a new Community of Practice focused on one goal: helping families thrive. The Strengthening Families Protective Factors Framework (SFPFF) gave community leaders, direct service providers, and frontline staff a shared language and toolkit to better support children and families in the Promise Zone.
Through a series of hands-on learning sessions and collaborative workshops, participants explored how small but meaningful shifts—like adjusting language, centering family voice, and building stronger social connections—can create lasting change. The results were thoughtful, personal, and full of promise.
