What is
North Hartford Ascend?
Facilitated by Connecticut Children’s, Ascend is an initiative that connects children and families living in the North Hartford Promise Zone with the services and supports they need to reach their full potential from prenatal care through career readiness.
With the support of Ascend, affiliates will work to eliminate disparities in outcomes based on race, ethnicity, disabilities and other factors so children and families are able to thrive.

Programs newly enrolled over 41K individuals in this time period. Most programs enrolled participants from more than one age group spanning from prenatal to 65+.

Between Jan 2022 & Dec 2023, over 38K individuals actively participated in programs. Estimated 17K individuals completed programs during this time period.

Estimated 9,000 referrals were made to other programs and services. Majority of referrals were to programs in the health, safety and well-being domain.
