The North Hartford Promise Zone (NHPZ) is a 3.11 square mile area that includes the neighborhoods of Clay Arsenal, Northeast, and Upper Albany. These neighborhoods face challenges such as high unemployment, violent crime, and food insecurity. Despite these hardships, there is hope and a focused effort to revitalize the area. With strong leadership from the City of Hartford and a coalition of local partners, including businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations, the NHPZ is working toward creating a brighter, safer future for its residents. This collaboration aims to bring resources and opportunities directly to the people of North Hartford, fostering economic growth and community development.
The North Hartford Promise Zone has identified six key goals to improve the quality of life and accelerate neighborhood revitalization:
