DESCRIPTION:Click Here to Register\nLearn more about the experiences\, challenges\, language\, culture\, and history of the queer community\, presented by Q Plus. \nCommunity Workshop: LQBT (QIAP+) 101 (Youth Audience) \nLearn more about the experiences\, challenges\, language\, culture\, and history of the queer\ncommunity. This training offers a more in-depth discussion of sexual orientation and gender identity and expression\, including a discussion on the meaning\, importance\, and use of orientation labels and gender pronouns. We will discuss language and symbols and take a look at how queer identity intersects with other aspects of identity and culture. Cultivated specifically for youth\, this version includes memes and trivia style games\, and the content will focus more on gender\, labels\, and coming out than on sexuality and history. \nQ Plus works to create more youth accessible spaces\, uplift youth voices\, and empower queer youth. Our overall goal is to create space for queer youth to be authentically and entirely themselves. \nSeats are limited\, and pre-registration is required for this event. Hartford residents will be eligible to receive a $50 incentive for their participation following the workshop. Refreshments will be provided.
